Grandfather Mountin

Just 30 minutes from the heart of Blowing Rock is this park which features the famed mile-high Grandfather Mountain Suspension Bridge. This park is fun for young and old and features outdoor animal exhibits displaying bears, otters, and the majestic bald eagle in their natural habitats. A globally recognized nature preserve, Grandfather Mountain have over 100 picnic tables and grilles scattered throughout the park and they encourage guests to bring their own picnic, but do have facilities available to purchase food from the Museum Restaurant. After your lunch, take a stroll through the Nature Museum and snap pictures on rock outcroppings at the Grandfather Mountain Suspension Bridge.

Linville Caverns

Another exciting place to visit to explore one of Mother Nature's wonders is Linville Caverns. Discovered in the early 1800's by a fishing expedition, this exciting Blowing Rock NC Attraction will lead you deep into chilly underground caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Public touring began in 1937 and since then many upgrades to lighting and pathways have been implemented to ensure the safety of their guests.
